 A single-family house near Porter Square in Cambridge, MA was up for sale—an area where properties are considered high-value and in high demand. To help this house look “perfect,” a few interior painting projects needed to be completed, including these rooms. .

  The main goal was to make these two rooms appear more spacious and organized. The original colors were not very appealing and actually made it difficult to see the potential of the space. With just two carefully selected colors—one for the walls and another for the trim, doors, and baseboards—we got to work. 

 The whole process took about a day and a half, which was critical since time was of the essence. Monotone and light colors made the work easier—and that’s exactly what you want when the job needs to be completed on a tight schedule. The combination of large windows and hardwood floors gave the room a spacious and modern feel, which turned out to be an unexpected bonus. 

 Despite the size of this room, it took a bit longer to finish than the first one. The main reason was the presence of furniture and a bed, which left very little space to work around the walls and ceiling.

Still, the final result is what really matters—and I think it’s clear that we nailed it.

 After a few days of work, the idea to expand the space and create a modern look was successfully achieved. Both rooms receive plenty of sunlight during the day, and when combined with the fresh paint, the result was a cozy and spacious atmosphere—an effect that pleasantly surprised both the realtors and the homeowner.
